New Central Library
Providing 240,000 sq. ft. of functional, flexible and beautifully designed space, the new Central Library (NCL) is home to a physical collection of 450,000 books, more than 30 free community meeting areas, a performance hall, café, outdoor plazas, a children’s library, dedicated spaces for teens, recording studios, and much more. The City of Calgary chose a prime location for its new Central Library: one block east of City Hall in the burgeoning cultural hotspot of East Village. The site provides a key destination and link that will draw Calgarians from downtown through City Hall to the NCL and East Village.
